As a buyer , when a salesperson asks customers for their budget, it literally turns the customer off. Asking for customer’s budget is not completely wrong, but you have to earn the right before asking this question; or instead be a budget advisor than a budget seeker.

As a salesperson, you also need to qualify customers, so you don’t end up spending lot of time with customers who are not the right fit for you.

If knowing your customer’s budget will help you qualify a customer, why not be a budget advisor than being a budget seeker.
